Kiosk mode for the front desk tablet

Parents enter their own card. Christina handles the next person. Rush-hour stops being a single-threaded bottleneck.

Status note: Demo build for June.

The story

At peak drop-off, a line forms in front of Christina because parents who could pay with a stored card don't have one saved, and Christina is manually typing card numbers on their behalf.

Kiosk mode hands the parent a desk tablet with their family record already loaded. The parent enters their own card, the system saves it for next time, and Christina is free to take the next parent. The single biggest stress moment in the front desk persona, addressed by a UX swap.

What this looks like in practice

  • Tablet hands off to the parent with their family record pre-loaded
  • Parent enters card, card saves for future, parent is back in line in 30 seconds
  • Lockdown: kiosk mode hides everything except the parent's own family
  • Returns to Christina's session on completion
