Costume distribution, pending / issue / distributed
Three states, free-text notes for the exceptions. Parents see 'coming soon' or 'you have it'. Staff sees the full picture.
The story
Costume distribution is a logistics problem the platform usually ignores. A studio with 200 kids has 200 costumes coming in, each needing a fitting, each potentially having a size issue, each owed to a specific kid by a specific date.
Pirouette gives staff a three-state model — pending, issue, distributed — with free-text notes for the cases that don't fit. Parents see a simplified two-state view: 'coming soon' or 'you have it'. The same entity, role-gated.
What this looks like in practice
- Staff view: pending / issue / distributed, plus free-text notes
- Parent view: 'coming soon' or 'you have it' — no internal state surfaced
- Costume credits as cancelling line items on the family ledger
- Same entity, two role-gated views
